Today, I helped my dad and brother in the house some more. We got all the drywall put up in one of the two rooms we have to finish. Tomorrow we're going to my grandparents' on my mother's side. That means that we get to get up; take 3 hrs. to get to Evansville, IN; sit for a couple of hours being incredibly bored; then go all the way back home.
You can probably tell that I'm somewhat underwhelmed by all of this. The reason is, I don't get along well with any of my mom's family. The only members I can even talk to normally are in-laws, but hey you can't choose your family.
Been playing a little KoL, not much since I've been working all day, but I hope there is something special for New Year's since there was for Christmas...ahem Crimbo. That's all I've got for now, may post later on, if not, be back tomorrow. (If my grandparents don't drive me insane first.) Until then...

Happy End-of-this-year-beginning-of-next-year-eve Eve!
I had to get up at 7:30 am this morning...ugh. I went with my dad to pick up my brother and then we went to work on the house I talked about yesterday. We got all the furring strips in after having to go to Lowe's and pick up some of the crappiest ones I've ever seen in order to finish. Then, we came home, my dad and brother fed cows (got outta that at least ^_^), then we went to my grandma's since we couldn't go before Christmas because of the snow. My grandma got me the new Mark Knopfler CD Shangri-La, which I am currently listening to. This new CD contains one of his new singles "Boom, like that" which describes the birth of the McDonald's fastfood franchise.
Since I was busy all day today, I have only been able to play 10 rounds of KoL, which I go play now, since I have some free time until bed. If anyone is interested, my username is NobeyamaGP and i am a member of the World of Randomness clan, come join us if you can! Well, that's all for today. See you tomorrow.
Notable Link of the Day: about:blank (since i've had no time at the computer today, your getting a blank page) ^_^;;;

Today...
I didn't do much today. My daily life without school is rather pathetic, imho. I got up, played my 40 rounds of Kingdom of Loathing, returned Hero, and finally helped feed cows. Tomorrow, since my dad and brother are off from work for New Year's, I will be helping them work at a house nearby ours (They are contractors, btw).
I'll quite yakkin, how many people actually read this anyhow...

A Little somethin'
Not much to say today, I went to the local movie rental and rented the Jet Li movie "Hero". Awesome movie, though you could teach at least a semester class on the symbolism in it. Also, I'm not used to the sound of Mandarin so that took some getting used to. This movie is celebrated as the long awaited rematch between Jet Li and Donnie Yen, two of the greatest "Wu Xia" (Hong-Kong Action) film stars.

REVIEW: Now, about Kiddy Grade...
As mentioned below, I finished Kiddy Grade (the DVD's, since I've already seen the digi subs at the Bloomington anime club). I liked as much as the first time.
Kiddy Grade is a good example of a basic sci-fi anime adventure. The story begins with the main characters Eclair and Lumiere on their posts as receptionists for the headquarters of the GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs). As a school tour group is crossing the lobby, a group of men in large armored suits break in through the windows in an attempt to seize the building. Many robotic injuries and Eclair panty-shots later, the problem is dealt with and smoothed over by Eclair's announcement of it all being a "training drill".
Little do these people know that Eclair and Lumiere are actually two of GOTT's special "ES Members", an elite squad of crime-fighters created to take down intergalactic criminals. Each of these members has a special ability which makes them much more than they appear, from the ability to absorb any energy and make it your own to the ability to control any computer device to being able to...uh...break stuff in Eclair's case with her ability appropriately dubbed "Power", these individual powers make the ES Members a force to be reckoned with.
Throughout the series, run various power plays by various people (including the GOTT itself as well as other ES Members) most of which are dealt with by our heroines. One particular group is particularly feisty, the Nouvelsse (Nobles), which are a group of pure-blood earthlings who act like they are better than all the other people who "dirtied their blood" with cybernetic and genetic enhancements. This group of arrogant pigs try to push around the rest of the galaxy's inhabitants and finally Eclair and Lumiere are ordered by the GOTT to go and help the Nouvelsse get their subjects, on one of their terraformed planets, to obey. Eclair finally resists her programming of always obeying her higher-ups and decides to help the people of this planet fight back against the Nouvelsse's opression. Eclair and Lumiere are then labeled as criminals themselves by the Nouvelsse running the GOTT and are hunted down by the other ES Members who were once their friends. Things run their course and after another BIG problem (not to give away the entire show) the series concludes.
Final Thoughts: Good story with lots of interesting characters. Don't get used to the characters' faces since due to one of the ES Members abilities being able to switch all the others' souls into different bodies if they die, and does so...regularly! Eclair and Lumiere, atleast, go through 4-5 bodies over the course of the series by way of flashbacks to previous "lives" as well as really needing it during the show.
Finally, good job done by the show's production team, GONZO (no, not the muppet). GONZO is responsible for many great projects, anime and non-anime alike. They helped create the animes Hellsing and LAST EXILE as well as the animated portion of Kill Bill Vol.1 and the animation the Linkin Park "Breaking the Habit" music video. This design team has continued to churn out many good shows and Kiddy Grade is one of them. I would definately say it is worth seeing, if not shelling out the money for Funimation's 8 DVD's (the subs are good honest!) at least track down the digis.
That's all for now, next time: Azumanga Daioh (maybe)!

Nothing 'n Stuff
Not much happened today. I got up, did nothing, fed cows, watched episodes 18-23 of Azumanga Daioh (an anime I recommend to anyone with the time), and am now posting this. That's it, OK?!
The notable link of the day is: GTL Project (for all you MegaTokyo fans), I wish they'd come to ACEN sometime.
Today's blogging soundtrack is: LAST EXILE OST 1
P.S. Last night, I finished the space, action, sci-fi drama; Kiddy Grade. (review forthcoming)

Two thoughts
Not much to say today, we got my dad's truck unstuck (and it's a 4 wheel drive too!) and were able to feed our cows grain for the first time since last Tuesday. I went to my brother's girlfriend's house and we amused ourselves by watching the entire first disc of Onegai Twins.
Which brings me to my second thought, after my long synopsis of Onegai Twins I won't bore you all with the details, but let me say that it contains a tad more fanservice (nudity/sexual humor) than I expected. (Though far less than I'm always prepared to handle ^_^)
Anywho, that's all I can think of. See you again when I feel like talking.
P.S. (I really ought to spell check these things more. 2 errors after posting)

FMA? OMG!
One of my other favorite anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist, is getting a movie that is an actual sequel! Not much is known yet, but you can find more here.

Merry Christmas and what turned into an Onegai Twins Review
Hello everyone. I'm having a fair Christmas (and an even better Chrimbo over on Kingdom of Loathing). I, like koit, opened my presents on Christmas Eve last night, so now I just finished up making some last minute Christmas cookies and am currently on a sugar buzz due to leftover frosting ()_().
If anyone is interested, I got my brother the first DVD of Onegai Twins, the "sequel" series to Onegai Teacher, the story of a 16/18 year old boy and his alien teacher. To keep his teacher's secret, they must get married and comedy and finally romance ensues. OniTea is probably one of my favorite series ever and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is into the Shojou romance genre.
Anywho, back to Onegai Twins, this story is set in the same town (in rural Nagano), but happens to different people and is 2 years after the events in OniTea. The main character is a boy named Maiku (Mike), who is working as a programmer and going to high school (almost half-heartedly). He was adopted at a very young age and bears no memory of his parents. All he has is a picture of himself with a girl (who is assumed to be his twin sister) in front of a house (which he found and is renting with his programming job). His life is becoming normal again after the move when he meets a girl who has the same picture he has, has the same eye color (an unusual deep blue) , and claims to be his twin! She is followed closely by another girl who has the same circumstances, eye color, and story as the first. By the end of the first 2 episodes, they all start living together in the same house. Added to this intriguing (and potentially ecchi) story are random cameos by the original Onegai Teacher cast and amazing music by KOTOKO, the ever so talented former member of the girl group I'VE, makes the show as good as its predecessor with potential for so much more! We will definately be continuing this.
Well, what started out as a passing comment turned into a full flung review of the first two episodes...^_^;;; Oh well, maybe next time something less heavy. Until then, "See you space cowboy...".

Random Thoughts...
Still stranded today. The snow is so deep, that our tractors are bearly able to move. My brother is on his way home for christmas today, I hope we can get the driveway cleared, otherwise he'd have to walk up our 1/4 mile driveway.
In response to Koit's new post, I will eventually post some anime reviews of sorts (more than likely consisting of "I like ______. It is cool."). To tell the truth, the idea hadn't actually crossed my mind. (Thanks Koit!)
Latest Anime Completed: Last Exile, R.O.D the TV, Ultra Maniac, Haibane Renmei, RahXephon, and Mahoromatic.
Anime I'm Currently Watching: School Rumble (waitin' on -Fansubs), 100 Stories, Kannaduki no Miko, Naruto (Blame Koit for that one ^_^), and Marmalade Boy for the second time (Blame me for that one).
I will hopefully get to watch more of these series over Christmas break and I may post comments on any shows I finish. Until then.

Guaranteed 20% More Coherent Than Last Post!
Since I am more awake now, I'll tell you a little about myself. I'm currently seventeen and as my profile shows, i am an otaku. Which is to say, i am a fan of Japanese anime and manga. I just got my computer back from the local pc shop where they replaced my motherboard (after much headache on my part) . My time without a computer is nearly a month, and I decided to start this blog as a way to get back in the swing of things.
The only problem with not having my computer for a while is the inability to check on my favorite web comics. So now i have quite a backlog on Megatokyo, 9th Elsewhere, and Errant Story which may take awhile to recoup thanks to my below average dial-up connection. (go go 700BYTE download rate!!)
If any of you check the weather (or care) we have 20+ inches of snow (which is unusual for southern indiana). It is kinda nice since i don't have school (yes, we would have gone to school today if it weren't for this. for more rantage on that subject, go read Koit's blog), but i also makes it hard to feed cows, get tractors and cars to...umm...move, and also simply to walk outside. I may try on my snowshoes (which I got but never had much of a chance to use thanks to Bedford's stellar ~20" anual snowfall), but I'll see how that goes later. In the meantime, go amuse yourselves elsewhere.

Hello Bloggers!
Yes yes, sad as it is, I have started a blog of my own thanks to one of my friends over at Koitian Kronicle. Check him out if you like. He's a rather unmotivated, self-proclaimed nerd who is the cause of this whole mess. Well, yoroshiku minna! That's all I can think of for now. And soon I must sleep. -_-
